Outreach

KidZone Learning Center of Wyandotte County [KZLCWC] is a not-for-profit corporation located at 5100 Leavenworth Road. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. KZLCWC just begun offering Childcare and Preschool / Pre-K options for children 6 weeks through school age. The capacity of the preschool is 90 kids.

The Strengthening Families Program is an evidence based family skills training program designed to increase resilience and reduce risk factors for behavioral, emotional, academic, and social problems in children ages 3 – 16 years old. The three life skills courses are Parent Skills Training, Children’s Skills Training, and Family Life Skills Training. This program is designed for the whole family to be involved.

We are in need of volunteers on a weekly basis to run this program successfully. We are looking for facilitators willing to be trained to help educate adults, children, and families on the program. Training for facilitators will take place August 18th and August 19th. For more information on volunteering please email Yort Clark at hopeunitedkc@gmail.com.
